Meet the Board of Directors
Emmy-Lou Hamley is a Clinical Nurse, specialised in Mental Health and founder of the Young Nurses Association, which aims to support and educate new and young nurses entering the profession through a network of mentors and peers.
Emmy-Lou has a passion for creating healthy communities and de-stigmatising mental health issues. She has over 12 years experience as a practicing nurse, and is a member of the World Health Organisation’s Global Clinical Practice Network, who aim to develop the 11th International Classification of Diseases.
Emmy-Lou speaks, educates and writes articles about young people, technology and mental health nursing – and sometimes all of these combined. She has co-authored and conducted research into promoting healthy relationships for young people and young people’s engagement with technology for use in well-being programs.
Emmy-Lou’s commitment to young people has seen her elected as a Youth Leader for the Queensland Youth Voice Committee since 2011, a member of the Queensland Youth Forum and a Rotary Youth Leader in 2012.
