Meet the Expand Project Team
Cheif Executive Officer
Bianca Goebel is the current CEO of Youth Without Borders. She is a process engineer and social advocate for the empowerment of youth, women and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and the innovation of economic systems to facilitate this. She is passionate about enabling positive change towards the goal of equality of opportunities – in recognition of the diverse reality we live in. Born in Australia to German parents, she graduated with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honors) in 2011. She spent the last 4 years working FIFO (fly in fly out) in the oil and gas industry while concurrently continuing to be involved in the non-for-profit sector in both project management and director positions. Currently she is the CEO of NGO Youth Without Borders, studying her MBA part time, Chair of the UQ Women in Engineering Committee, and on the UQ Young Alumni Board of Directors.
Bianca was incremental in the initial scoping of the Expand project including going over to Rabaul, PNG to scope out the project and develop partnerships that led to Warangoi High School being selected for the collaboration. She brings her extensive project management experience as well as her on the ground understanding dynamics and opportunities that come with the project’s overseas location.
